Register in the contract staff database
Contract staff address temporary administrative tasks or supplement in specialised fields where the EU institutions are lacking enough skilled civil servants. They are generally recruited under fixed-term contracts (for a maximum of 6 years in any EU institution), but in some cases, they may be offered contracts of indefinite duration (in offices, agencies, delegations, or representations). There is no application deadline, and the selection process testing phase is managed by EPSO.
Applicants must create an EPSO account to insert personal, professional and educational information into the contract staff database.
When recruitment needs arise, a search is made and a shortlist of candidates matching the job requirements is created. These candidates take computer-based tests (MCQs) on verbal, numerical, and abstract reasoning, organised by EPSO and candidates with successful results can be invited for an interview with the recruiting institution and may be hired.
EU institutions may adapt the selection process for contract staff as needed and keep relevant services informed.

Please note that registering for the selection procedure does not guarantee employment. It only ensures that your profile is added to a database from which EU institutions may select candidates when vacancies arise.
