„2006-ban helyezkedtem el az Európai Számvevőszéknél, ahol jelenleg ellenőrként dolgozom. Munkám során a kohéziós politikával és az éves teljesítményjelentéssel foglalkozom. A teljesítményjelentésben átfogóan értékeljük az uniós programok hozzáadott értékét.

Feladataim közé tartozik, hogy megtervezzem az ellenőrzéseket, kiértékeljem a bizonyítékokat, áttekintsek egy sor különböző dokumentumot, jelentéseket készítsek, és helyszíni látogatásokat tegyek a tagállami hatóságoknál és kedvezményezetteknél. Fő munkanyelvünk az angol, de több más nyelvet is használunk. Munkámhoz elengedhetetlen a jó kommunikációs és szervezői készség.

Végzettségem szerint eredetileg mérnök vagyok, de közigazgatási tanulmányokat is végeztem. A Belső Ellenőrök Intézeténél képesített belső ellenőri címet szereztem, majd könyvvizsgálat-menedzsment és tanácsadás mesterszakon folytattam tanulmányaimat. Az Európai Számvevőszék előtt projektmenedzserként és belső ellenőrként dolgoztam ipari szervezeteknél.”

What does an EU auditor do?

An EU auditor assures that taxpayer money is spent correctly and that it gives real value to EU citizens.

What do you enjoy most about your job?

What I enjoy the most is the different kinds of actions taken by the EU and that I get to audit them. Every day you get to learn something new, and I find that really exciting.

One tip for someone considering applying to the audit competition?

I would suggest getting to know the programs and the actions taken by the EU, getting sense of the overall picture of what’s done and how it’s enacted in the member states and across the world.

What does an EU auditor do?

At the European Court of Auditors, we are the guardians of the EU's finances. We conduct financial and performance audits to check if money is accounted for and if it's delivering true value. My job involves analysing complex programmes and meeting international partners to ensure EU support delivers real results, both inside and outside the Union. 

What do you enjoy most about your job?

What I love the most is the tangible impact and the international scope. Recently, I audited health systems in Burundi and Zimbabwe, focusing on sustainability and coordination. It is incredibly rewarding to issue recommendations that directly improve how funding is allocated, knowing my work leads to better, lasting outcomes for people on the ground.

One tip for someone considering applying to the audit competition?

Ellenőr vagyok az Európai Bizottságnál. Munkám érdekes és izgalmas. Fő célunk, hogy biztosítsuk az uniós adófizetők pénzének helyes és jogszerű felhasználását, továbbá felügyeljük a rendszerek megfelelő működését és a szabályok betartását.

Munkám egyik legérdekesebb része, amikor az uniós tagállamokban (és más országokban) ellenőrzöm az uniós finanszírozás kedvezményezettjeit.
