This test assesses candidates’ written communication skills.
EPSO may use one or more of the following formats, depending on the needs expressed by the recruiting services for each competition:
- Written Test (WT) – related to the field(s) of the competition; assesses written communication skills only.
- Field-Related Written Test (FRWT) – assesses both written communication skills and knowledge in the relevant field.
- Free-Text Essay on EU Matters (EUFTE) – assesses written communication skills only.
Candidates must complete their assignment(s) using the materials provided by EPSO, as specified in the notice of competition. The assessment will be based on the specific “anchors” listed below. (Anchors refer to the elements considered by test markers—i.e., assessors—when evaluating a given competency.)
Structures written communication with a logical flow of ideas.
- Writes concisely, avoiding unnecessary words and sentences.
- Presents subject matter in a clear and understandable way.
- Adapts and tailors writing to suit the intended audience and purpose.
- Uses the information provided effectively to address the assignment.
