EPSO created two useful video tutorials to help candidates become more familiar with the translation and revision tests for the ongoing translators’ competition. EPSO developed the script based on the instructions for the tests. An AI-generated avatar delivers the presentation in the competition’s 8 languages. This is a ‘first’ for EPSO and is part of our continued efforts to enhance the candidates’ experience, and to make EPSO’s selection procedures more accessible to all.

The competition for administrators in the field of taxation, which was published today on EPSO’s website, is special. Why is that so?

This is the first competition in 2025, to use a new application system, the so-called Single Candidate Portal. A comprehensive package of instructions was published also today, together with this competition’s dedicated page. EPSO would like to invite you to take some time to become familiar with those instructions. Future competitions will also be applied to using the Single Candidate Portal.

Questions and complaints submitted via the contact forms on EPSO’s website will not be answered.
However, candidates must submit them in the Single Candidate Portal.
The only exception is for candidates who cannot access the Single Candidate Portal due to issues with the creation of and/or access to the EU Login Account. These questions can be submitted via this contact form.

EPSO has just launched a new project that aims to promote EU Careers further, a podcast series entitled ‘A peek behind EU Careers’.

The idea behind this series (6 episodes in total), was to let EU staff talk and share how they started working for the EU, what it has been like so far, and also to bring to a wider audience more personal aspects of their lives.

We have received a number of requests to clarify what is meant in section 4.3.2 (c) (ii) of the Notice of Competition “… Candidates are encouraged to use examples from their prior professional experience when answering FRSTQ test questions …”

What is meant is that candidates should use examples that clearly demonstrate their knowledge and skills e.g. concrete projects, processes and times etc.. However, under no circumstances should names (candidates’, supervisor, individuals) be mentioned here.

Candidates will not be asked to prove the experiences referred to, but should keep in mind that the markers are also experts in the given field.

EPSO is pleased to announce the indicative 2025 competition planning under Upcoming selection procedures.

 In view of the indicative nature of this planning, small changes may still be introduced.

Candidates are hereby informed that the source document for the written test for competition EPSO/AD/403/23 (AD7), field 1 - Crisis management, and field 2 - Migration and internal security, initially uploaded on 18 December 2024, was replaced with the correct version on 19 December 2024. EPSO apologises for the inconvenience.

• The same source document applies to both competition fields.
• Candidates for each field will be assessed separately, to ensure equal treatment.

This written test is designed to assess the following competency: written communication skills. Neither your knowledge in the field nor your knowledge of the topic of this test will be assessed.

Candidates to EPSO’s competition for translators (AD5) covering DA, EL, EN, ES, FR, IT, MT and NL languages, are hereby informed that the testing session for this competition will take place in two separate days, both falling within the same month. Candidates will have to attend both days in order to complete their tests. In view of the important number of tests (5) comprised by this competition, EPSO felt that this decision would be in the best interest of candidates.
