Gregor, European Parliament

“My name is Gregor, and I serve as Head of the Climate Action Research and Tracking Service within the European Parliament Research Service, leading a team of four experts focused on EU and international climate policy.
Our team handles requests from Members of the European Parliament, providing information and analysis, and drafting publications to support their legislative work. The European Green Deal and its related legislation have kept us quite busy over the last five years!
We have conducted in-depth analyses of climate policy achievements in each EU Member State, and are currently examining their strategies to meet the ambitious climate targets for 2030 and to achieve climate neutrality by 2050.
What I love about my job is working with international experts and approaching policy challenges from diverse perspectives—scientific, economic, social, legal, financial, and political. This multidisciplinary focus, along with ensuring quality output and meeting tight deadlines, keeps the work dynamic and rewarding.
A career highlight for me was a mission to Niger with Parliament's President, where my task was to organise a round-table on renewable energy with African and European experts. Further, I am also the lead auditor for the European Parliament’s environmental management system—a role that connects me with various units across the institution and enables me to contribute to enhancing our environmental performance.”
