Practical recommendations

To help you navigate the selection process, we’ve gathered some practical recommendations based on our experience and feedback from candidates like you.

Keep your Candidate Account updated and make sure that you can access your account at all times.

Read the Notice of competition/Call for expression of interest carefully before applying.

Subscribe to your selection procedure’s page to stay informed about the next steps.

Check the guide what you need to know about the online testing.

Consult EPSO’s FAQs – you may find your answer there. If not, use only EPSO’s official communication channels via Contact us.

Follow all instructions carefully from EPSO and its test provider. Refresh your knowledge a few days before your test session.

Prepare for the written test in advance – read the published material and review the “anchors” used for assessing it.

Gather your supporting documents early – don’t leave this to the last minute. Make sure you know which documents are required for Contract agent and permanent official selection procedures.

Check recognition of your qualifications – if your qualification/diploma was obtained outside the EU, ensure it is officially recognised by the relevant national authority.

Look into national support – see if your Member State offers special help to candidates preparing for EPSO tests.
