- You have a temporary contract with an EU institution that uses SYSPER, and your contract ends before the conclusion of the competition: you must activate the ‘EU LOGIN for life (EUL4L)’ via SYSPER to keep the access to your internal account.
- You have a temporary contract with an EU institution that does not use SYSPER (e.g. the European Court of Justice, the European Parliament, the Committee of the Regions or the European External Action Service): you must access JSIS and create an external EU LOGIN account. During this procedure, the account is "SPONSORED" and it is from then on linked to your Personal ID (PerID). The account then becomes a EUL4L (‘EU LOGIN for Life’) account and you thereby keep your access to the Single Candidate Portal.
FAQs
I already work for the EU institutions, but my contract is about to end. Will I lose access to my account in the Single Candidate Portal?
I already work for the EU institutions and cannot find my all my applications in my Single Candidate Portal account.
Most likely you have used different EU LOGIN accounts for your applications. This is the reason why not all of them are visible if you log into one of those accounts. This is not a problem, but please be aware that if you have a temporary contract with an EU institution that uses SYSPER and if your contract ends before the conclusion of the competition, you must activate the ‘EU LOGIN for life (EUL4L)’ via SYSPER to keep the access to your internal account.
Why has the status of my application passed from “Validated” to “Ongoing”?
The status ‘ongoing’ is the status all validated applications transition to after the end of the application deadline.
Can I use my professional email-address from the EU institutions as a communication email-address for taking the EPSO online tests?
Yes, you can. However, you must not use your corporate laptop. Instead, you should transfer the emails your received from EPSO’s test provider to an email address that you can access from the private computer that you will use when taking the online tests.
Can I register the same mobile phone for two different EU LOGIN accounts?
In general, it is not possible to register the same mobile phone for two different EU LOGIN accounts. However, for European Commission staff who have accepted the BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) policy, it is possible to manage both an internal and an external EU LOGIN account on the same device by installing the EU LOGIN app twice (once in the personal space and once in the work profile).
What if I don’t have a smartphone or tablet to use for the EU LOGIN authentication?
You can still use SMS for two-factor authentication for now. However, please note that this option will be discontinued in June 2025. You can also use a security key or an eID as alternative authentication methods. For further information please also check the EU Login Help page.
Can I upload data from SYSPER to my CV in the Single Candidate Portal?
If you work for an EU institution that uses SYSPER, the SYSPER eCV button will redirect you to SYSPER to be able to copy and paste information, but it does not allow for an automatic data transfer into your CV in the Single Candidate Portal. You will have to copy and paste information manually.
I have a temporary contract with the EU institutions. Can I transfer the data from my internal profile in the Single Candidate Portal to a new external one?
No. It is impossible to transfer the data from one profile to another. If you have a temporary contract and wish to apply through an external account, you will need to create a new account and re-enter your data manually.
I already work for the EU institutions. Should I apply with my internal EU LOGIN?
- You have a permanent contract as an EU official: you must use your current corporate (internal) EU LOGIN for your application via the Single Candidate Portal.
- You have a temporary contract as EU staff: you must create a new EU LOGIN, using a private e-mail address. Important: you must also use a personal computer device, otherwise, your professional computer device will use your corporate (internal) EU LOGIN by default.
