New opportunity for contract agents with disabilities - General Secretariat of the Council (GSC)

Around one in six people today experiences some form of disability. The General Secretariat of the Council (GSC) is committed to providing equal employment and career development opportunities for people with disabilities, and to ensuring a working environment that is accessible and offers reasonable adjustments.

 

About the opportunity

The GSC is launching a pilot scheme to increase the proportion of people with disabilities among its staff.

The scheme will establish a database of suitable candidates from which contract agents will be recruited for various roles. 

Up to three posts per year in function groups II, III or IV will be filled with one-year contracts

This pilot scheme is part of the Diversity and Inclusion Strategy of the GSC for 2025-2030, which aims to promote a more diverse and balanced workforce, leveraging the unique skills, creativity, and perspectives of individuals with disabilities.

 

Who we are

The General Secretariat of the Council (GSC) supports two EU institutions: the European Council and the Council of the EU. This includes assisting the Presidencies, the Permanent Representatives Committee (Coreper) and other Council committees and working parties.

Career opportunities in three function groups (FG)

FG IV: Administrative, advisory, linguistic and other technical tasks performed under the supervision of officials or temporary staff.

FG III: Executive tasks, drafting, accountancy, and other equivalent technical tasks performed under the supervision of officials or temporary staff.

FG II: Clerical and secretarial tasks, office management, and other equivalent tasks performed under the supervision of officials or temporary staff.
