Do you accept my qualification(s)/diploma(s) issued in non-EU countries?

Question categories:

Diplomas obtained outside of the European Union* are considered valid only if accompanied by a recognition document issued by a competent national authority of any EU Member state (see list below**).

*Diplomas obtained in the United Kingdom require a recognition document if issued after 1st of January 2021.

The recognition document must include at least the following information:

  • Candidate’s full name
  • Name of the university
  • Title of the diploma obtained

Please note that the statement of equivalency (which can be downloaded from the NARIC Ireland database) is not valid for this purpose.

Each Notice of Competition has its own eligibility conditions, consisting usually of several combinations of educational qualifications and work experience.

To cover the broadest diploma spectrum in each competition we advise the candidate to request the equivalency of all their diplomas. This allows the Selection Board to choose the most appropriate eligibility combination declared in the application form.
