Traineeships - CBE JU
The CBE JU operates a traineeship programme. The programme gives trainees an understanding of the CBE JU and its role within the activities of the European Union, enables them to acquire practical knowledge of the CBE JU and obtain professional experience in the course of their work.
The CBE JU wishes to host two trainees to support the Programme Unit and one trainee to support the Communications team.
Who can apply?
- Nationals of a Member State of the European Union
- Applicants must have a university degree or its equivalent by the closing date for applications (attested by a diploma/other relevant certificate)
- Applicants must not have already benefited or benefit from any kind of in-service training within a European institution or body, nor have had or have any kind of employment within a European institution or body.
Traineeship periods
Programme Unit: from March to August 2025 and from September 2025 to February 2026
Communications team: from February to July 2025
Paid: Yes. The CBE JU pays a monthly grant of EUR 1.418,19 net per month and will pay a travel allowance to compensate the expenses incurred at the beginning and at the end of the traineeship from the place of residence.

The European Union Agency for Asylum offers a traineeship contract of 6 months, renewable for a maximum of another 6 months.
Who can apply?
Citizens of an EU Member State or of a Schengen associated country (Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway and Switzerland
Recent university graduates and university students enrolled in a higher education course and having completed at least three years of studies before starting the traineeship.
Candidates should have a minimum level B2 of the (Common European Framework for Languages) in English.
What is the start date of the traineeship?
A traineeship can start on the 1st or the 16th of any month, first intake begins in March 2025.
What is the duration of the EUAA traineeship?
The initial traineeship contract is up to six months and may be renewed for a maximum of another six months. The maximum duration of a traineeship is 12 months.

Traineeships - Eurojust
There are approximatively 12 traineeship opportunities per year in the different legal and administrative fields relevant for the Agency such as: casework, GEN/JITs/EJN network secretariat, data management, communications, corporate affairs, financial, human resources, events organisation, IT and administrative law.
Who can apply: University graduates who are nationals of a Member State or candidate countries. Candidates should have a good knowledge of English (minimum B2 level) as the working language of Eurojust.
Duration: 5 months
Paid: Yes. Approximatively 1 500€ per month

The traineeship programme aims to provide trainees with work experience in the field of maritime safety legislation, response to pollution at sea and cooperation among member states in safety at sea matters. In-service training enables trainees to acquire practical experience by means of their work and put into practice the knowledge they have acquired during their academic studies or professional careers in the areas of maritime safety, communication or administration.
Who can apply: Nationals of EU Member States, Iceland, Norway and candidate countries benefiting from a pre-acession strategy, who have a good knowledge of English. Candidates must have completed the first cycle of a higher education course (university education) and obtained a full degree.
Duration: 6-12 months

One of the aims of the traineeship at the FRA are to allow trainees to contribute to the Agency’s mission in helping to make fundamental rights a reality for everyone in the EU.
The traineeship is offered to recent university graduates (at least one month before starting the traineeship) and persons who would benefit from initial work experience, without excluding those who have recently obtained a university diploma or are at the beginning of a new professional career. To be eligible for a traineeship, you must also have completed your most recent studies no more than three years prior to the deadline for applications.
How to apply?
Please complete your application in English. Only applications received via the FRA e-recruitment platform will be accepted. It is not possible to submit an application by email.
In your application, you must specify which unit and sector you are applying for. You can indicate only one entity. Candidates applying for more than one area will be automatically rejected.
Please note that no employment of any form can be offered following the end of the traineeship period unless through a recruitment procedure against a vacancy notice published on the FRA website.
To be eligible for a traineeship at FRA, you must meet the following conditions:
- Be a national of one of the Member States of the European Union (27), EEA countries (3) or EU candidate countries (Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Moldova, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Serbia, Turkey, and Ukraine) or potential candidate countries (Georgia and Kosovo*);
- Have a very good knowledge of English, the working language of FRA (B2);
- Have completed university studies (obtained a degree diploma) by one month prior to the start date of the traineeship (i.e. no later than 1 September 2024) and no more than 3 years prior to the closing date for applications.
Duration: 6 months, from 1 October 2024 – 31 March 2025.
The trainee will be required to work on a full-time basis at the FRA premises in Vienna.
