Job description

EU lawyers provide legal advice, ensure the legality and the drafting quality of legal acts, conduct extensive legal research, analysis and act as agents of the institutions in judicial proceedings. 
Their duties include drafting legal policy documents; providing legal counsel to senior management; participating in interinstitutional negotiations for the adoption of EU legal acts; coordinating with EU national authorities to improve national legislation; representing the EU institutions in legal proceedings; conducting in-depth research and analysis; participating in legal meetings at an international level, among others.  
 
Key qualifications

You must have a good command of at least two EU languages, a law degree for entry at grade AD 5 (the entry-level for officials at administrator level) and several years’ relevant experience to join at a more senior level (grade AD 7).
