IT and technical requirements for testing (TestWe)
To ensure the best possible testing experience, please review the IT and technical requirements listed below.
More detailed instructions are shared with candidates via their account and through targeted e-mail messages.
Operating systems compatible with the testing application:
- Microsoft Windows 10 (minimum)
- Apple OS X 10.15 (minimum)
Be sure to have:
- 2 GB of free space on the hard disk
- Internet connection (Wi-Fi or wired)
- 4 GB of RAM (minimum) – 8 GB of RAM is recommended by the test provider
- Only a single screen (laptop screen or a monitor). Dual-screen configurations are not permitted (e.g., a desktop computer with two monitors or a laptop with an external screen). However, you may use a single external screen connected to your laptop via a cable. In this case, you must deactivate the laptop screen and keep it closed. Please note, if you choose this option, you will not be able to use your laptop’s integrated camera, keyboard, or trackpad.
- a screen resolution matching that one indicated in the user guide you receive from the test provider.
Some configurations (for example Windows 10 S, Windows under ARM architecture or Virtual Machines) are incompatible with the testing application. Candidates will be able to consult the dedicated webpage of the test provider for more detailed information when invited to sit their tests.
If you have previously installed the testing application for other tests you must uninstall it completely (including all ‘hidden files’) and reinstall it in their computers to sit the tests. You will receive specific instructions on how to do this.
You must conduct a technical prerequisite check to ensure that your device is ready to support the test day experience.
It allows the test provider to verify:
- candidates meet the technical conditions, such as having the correct version of the application installed,
- ensuring that there are no issues, for instance, with the camera, the microphone, and other features.
- ensuring candidates are familiar with the testing platform, its functionalities, and the tools to be used under exam conditions.
Candidates who fail to complete the technical prerequisite check by the deadline and experience technical issues during their testing session may not be provided with an opportunity to retest.
Candidates will receive a specific e-mail from the test provider about this and will also be reminded by EPSO of its importance before the testing session.
