Assistants in the field of finance

Do you have experience in the field of finance? Would you like to start an international career within a multicultural and diverse team? If yes, then read on.

The EU is seeking professionals in the fields of financial management, accounting and treasury and public procurement. Successful candidates will be recruited at the assistant grade AST 3.

We offer opportunities to candidates who fit any of the profiles below. Please note that you may only apply for one field.

  • Field 1 – Financial management: Your main tasks will include assisting in: preparing, executing, and monitoring the annual budget; setting up financial dossiers; monitoring of contracts, grant agreements, and service-level agreements; ensuring sound financial management; implementing audits action plans/recommendations; advising the operational units in the management of budgetary and financial operations; drawing up financial reports/statistics.
     
  • Field 2 - Accounting and treasury: Your main tasks will include assisting with: verifying legal entities’ master data and bank accounts; invoice management; executing and monitoring authorised payments; recovery of amounts receivable and making related accounting entries; management of assets, depreciation and inventories; VAT recoveries; carrying out regular financial and accounting controls; treasury management; drafting reports; providing training and support in accounting matters.
     
  • Field 3 - Public procurement: Your main tasks will include assisting in: the programming and implementation of public procurement procedures; drafting answers, requests for information/ clarification, letters regarding tender procedures; assisting in the legal and financial monitoring of contracts; designing, developing, and maintaining e-Procurement systems; providing training and support to the operational services regarding public procurement rules and best practices.
