What brought you to Frontex?
After many years in marketing and public relations, I was looking for a new challenge where I could apply my communication skills in a role with real purpose. Joining the Standing Corps gave me the opportunity to experience operational work firsthand before moving into field communications.
What has your journey at Frontex been like?
My first deployments were in Latvia and North Macedonia, where I gained valuable operational experience at the EU’s external borders. Later, I became a Field Communications Officer in Hungary, allowing me to combine my communications background with what I had learned in the field.
Your career has taken you to several countries. Are those temporary deployments or long-term assignments?
My work history features a diverse range of assignments: some lasted only a week or two, while others extended up to two and a half years.
What does your current role involve?
I help tell the stories behind Frontex operations. My role is to connect operational activities with public communication by showcasing the professionalism and dedication of officers working on the ground. It’s about making complex operational work understandable and accessible.
What makes working at Frontex unique?
The international environment is unlike anywhere I’ve worked before. Every deployment brings new experiences, and working alongside colleagues from different Member States has shown me the value of cooperation, mutual learning and shared purpose.
What would you tell someone thinking about joining Frontex?

How do you manage career development and work-life balance?
I am all about living fully in the present, which means staying active and diving into as many experiences as possible. Whether it’s grabbing a cold drink or hitting the padel court with colleagues, I love keeping things engaging. When I have more time, I pack my bags and head outside Europe to explore new cultures and places.
