Quality education for your children
The European Schools provide a high-quality, multicultural education in the official languages of the European Union. They are located in several EU countries. European Schools combine national curricula with a strong European dimension. Education is mainly academic, rather than vocational/technical, and leads to the European Baccalaureate, a qualification recognised in all EU countries. Children can study in their mother tongue, which supports continuity in learning while encouraging exposure to other cultures and languages.
There are currently 13 European Schools serving more than 28 000 pupils in Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany, Italy, Spain and Luxembourg.
High-quality childcare from day one
In Brussels and Luxembourg City, the EU institutions offer day nurseries (crèches) and kindergartens for young children. Many facilities also provide after-school care.
Some childcare facilities are interinstitutional and run by the European Commission. Others are managed by individual institutions and are available only to their own staff.
