What does your role at the European Data Protection Supervisor (EDPS) involve?
At the EDPS, I work in the Information and Communication Unit. We are responsible for bringing data protection, tech and AI news to life for the public. Whether through video, audio or copy, my role is on the creative side of producing podcasts, launching dynamic social media campaigns and supporting events. Whether it involves legal decisions or emerging tech, I bridge the gap between EU institutions and citizens by transforming developments into relatable content and making sure it remains at the very top of everyone’s feed.
What do you enjoy most about your work at the EDPS?
My role at the EDPS offers sheer variety and creative freedom in my daily work. I could be speaking with experts about everyday data protection for a podcast one moment, and running real-time social media coverage for a high-level meeting the next. As the changing landscapes of AI and data protection transform the EDPS’s role, my focus is on creating content that shows how digital rights issues directly affect citizens.
What opportunities have you had at the EDPS to learn, develop new skills or take on new challenges?
The EDPS encourages you to take opportunities for personal and professional growth, and opens doors to trainings tailored to your experience, knowledge and curiosity. I have benefitted from language courses, and inter-institutional job shadowing that has broadened my knowledge about other EU institutions and allowed me to meet professionals within the same field. The support of a truly collaborative team has also given me the autonomy to take ownership of ambitious projects from start to finish.
How would you describe the working culture and how does it impact your daily work experience?

It allows me to collaborate effortlessly, experiment with new multimedia formats and brainstorm on different campaigns with teams.
For someone moving to Brussels from another country, what would you say makes the city a good place to live and work?
Brussels is a vibrant European hub that was always on my wish list. It has a rare balance of both feeling global and surprisingly cozy. As an expat, it might take some time to build a community, but since the city attracts curious and smart people from all over the world, I found many new friends. During the week it has a cosmopolitan atmosphere, while during the weekends it offers green parks and a vibrant cultural scene with endless events. Its central location also makes weekend gateways easy.
