What is your role at Europol?
I am proud to lead a team of talented and dedicated IT Operations engineers, working hard on to ensure all Europol systems are secure, resilient and highly available – all working towards one goal: To enable and accelerate all our ongoing investigations and support our officers in keeping Europe safe.
What do you find exciting about working at Europol?
For me it’s the learning and understanding the law enforcement sector, serving the community and contributing my life time to public safety.
What has your experience been of living in The Hague?
The Hague was super easy to settle into – blink twice and you already feel like a local. Summer is the definitely the best here, endless daylight, everyone outside and the whole city feels like it’s on holiday.
How has your experience at Europol contributed to your learning and development throughout your career?
I am happy to see that learning is embedded into the Europol culture, every year I am encouraged and expected to develop new skills, ensuring I can keep growing both personally and professionally.
What motivates you most in your daily work?
It excites and motivates me to see what good and great changes are possible, when colleagues share such a strong common purpose.

What I found impressive is the organisation’s commitment into how public funds are managed. Every investment is considered thoughtfully, balancing operational needs with the obligation to use public resources wisely.
Do you have any advice for young professionals beginning their careers in EU institutions, bodies and agencies?
The application processes are mostly complex ones, so don’t take an unsuccessful selection procedure too personal and just try again if it really matters to you.
