What has your journey at the European Food Security Authority (EFSA) been like?
Over the past 18 years at EFSA, I have had the privilege of contributing to the protection of the environment and the strengthening of public trust through the environmental risk assessment of pesticides, primarily as Leader of the Ecotoxicology Team. My journey has been shaped by scientific challenges, continuous learning and collaboration with dedicated colleagues and experts from across Europe.
What have been some of the most memorable moments of your career?
Looking back, some of my most memorable experiences were contributing to the review of neonicotinoids, the development of the Guidance on Endocrine Disruptors and the Bee Guidance Document. These were scientifically complex and highly sensitive projects that required close collaboration among experts from Member States, EU institutions, stakeholder organisations and risk managers.

EFSA’s scientific excellence, international environment and opportunities for professional growth have made my career deeply fulfilling. Combined with the experience of living in Parma, my time at EFSA has been rewarding both professionally and personally.
