How would you describe your experience of working in the EU Institutions?
From the beginning I have been amazed by the scale of it all. Entering the Commission and its agencies felt like stepping into a parallel universe, where an improbable number of people from the most various backgrounds converge in one shared effort, each a small component in a much larger mechanism.
How has the Commission contributed to your learning and professional development?
As a Blue Book Trainee, there are endless learning opportunities, from training days to conversations with colleagues. Every acronym decrypted and every course completed unlocks a new piece of knowledge, helping you better navigate the world of EU institutions, making it all feel a little less mysterious.
How would you describe the working culture and how does is impact your daily work experience?
Flexibility and result-oriented approach are essential in multicultural teams. Different approaches and working styles coexist in a space where everyone can find their own balance while contributing to shared goals.
What has your experience been of living in Brussels?
The closest thing to an Erasmus experience. Landing in Brussels at the same time as hundreds of other trainees guarantees a warm welcome and great connections, after that the rest unfolds naturally. Go with the flow.
What do you think is important for the outside world to know about working in EU Institutions?
