How did you come to work for REA?
Coming to REA was, for me, a completely new professional chapter. I arrived through interinstitutional mobility from the European Commission. Before REA, my path was through development cooperation and the European Social Fund, so this was a great opportunity to live the whole project management cycle, from beginning to end. I’ve now been at REA for 10 years!
What is the best thing about working at REA?
For me, without a doubt, the best thing is the people who work here, and also the opportunity to grow: now I am Project Officer for Inclusive Society, but before this I worked on Marie Sklodowska Curie Actions, and thanks to the networks I am a part of (with other Executive Agencies and the European Commission) I continue to meet wonderful people and to learn and grow. I also enjoy the flexible working arrangements (we can work up to 3 days a week from home).
Can you tell us about what it’s like to work at REA?
Here the culture is to put people first: we are listened to, our needs are taken into account. I’m very proud of that and this is confirmed by the staff survey. I also feel very close to the beneficiaries of our projects, which have a real impact, and with whom we are in constant contact. And there’s always a new challenge, a new situation we can help solve.
