The EU institutions offer many opportunities for you to change roles as your career progresses. You may choose to move into a management position or continue developing as a specialist in your field. These pathways allow you to build a long-term career while adapting to new roles and interests.
For example, you may begin with a traineeship.
Move into a contract staff or temporary staff role.
And later, become a permanent staff member.

Continuous learning is part of the culture here through mobility opportunities, trainings, language courses, and lectures, so you avoid feeling stagnant in your role.

One thing I have particularly appreciated is the level of responsibility that can come relatively quickly. Since joining the ECA, I have progressively moved from carrying out audit work to leading teams and coordinating complex tasks as a Head of Task.
