Tasks and responsibilities:

Reporting to the Head of Unit and under the supervision of the respective Head of Sector the main duties related to this position are: 

➢ Support the planning and implementation of deployments, redeployments and rotations of Standing Corps Officers, in line with operational needs and applicable rules. 

➢ Support the identification and allocation of suitable officers to operational positions, taking into account operational requirements, profiles, availability and other relevant factors. 

➢ Coordinate and follow up on deployment-related activities, including the preparation and monitoring of Deployment Decisions and other actions required for the deployment of officers. 

➢ Liaise with relevant internal and external stakeholders, including operational entities, HR, Standing Corps hierarchy, contributing countries and field structures, to facilitate the smooth implementation of deployments. 

➢ Support the management of urgent and ad hoc operational requirements, including replacements, redeployments, extensions and reinforcements. 

➢ Contribute to the effective management of Standing Corps field teams by providing practical support and advice on deployment-related matters. 

➢ Contribute to the consistent application and further development of practical procedures and working arrangements related to deployment management. 

➢ Provide support and practical guidance to colleagues and stakeholders on deployment planning and related operational matters. 

Selection criteria:

Professional qualifications, competencies and experience required: 

Fundamental: 

➢ At least 8 years of relevant professional experience in law enforcement, border management or a similar operational environment. 

➢ Professional experience in operational planning, coordination or management of staff and resources. 

➢ Experience in coordinating operational activities, deployments or other staff movements in a dynamic working environment. 

➢ Good organisational skills, with the ability to structure and prioritise tasks effectively, manage competing demands and ensure timely delivery of assigned work. 

➢ Good written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey information clearly, concisely and appropriately to different audiences. 

Advantageous: 

➢ Experience in international missions or cross-border operations. 

➢ Previous experience with Standing Corps or similar operational deployment frameworks. 

➢ Experience in operational planning, staff management or coordination of field activities.  

➢ Familiarity with tools or systems used for operational planning, coordination or staff management.
