Working in a team with colleagues from all over the EU has been rewarding in every possible way. When you add the wonderful location of Athens, as well as the growth opportunities in terms of career, ENISA becomes an irresistible workplace.
Could you tell us a little about your professional background, your current role at the European Union Agency for Cybersecurity (ENISA), and what inspired you to join the Agency?
I have been working for the European Union Institutions, Bodies, and Agencies since 2011, when I joined the Directorate‑General for Translation (DGT) of the European Commission in Luxembourg as a Blue Book Trainee. I went on to work in the Directorate‑General for Human Resources and Security (DG HR) of the European Commission, then in another EU Agency and later at the European Parliament and the European Personnel Selection Office (EPSO). I was inspired to join ENISA because of the exciting career opportunities it offers and the dynamic domain it operates in - there is never a dull day!
What do you find most rewarding about your work at ENISA, and how does your role contribute to strengthening cybersecurity across Europe?
I have witnessed what an impact my work has on the Agency's resource management and planning and how much my contributions have helped shape the ENISA of today. I am immensely grateful for all the guidance and support I have received in the past 8 years and have been lucky to work alongside professionals who have inspired me with their leadership, professionalism, and knowledge. Further to this, I have been intrinsically motivated to give 110% each day, which I believe helps my colleagues in operations fulfill ENISA's mission and ensure a safer and more cybersecure EU.
How would you describe the working environment at ENISA, particularly the collaboration with colleagues from different professional and cultural backgrounds?
Working in a team with colleagues from all over the EU has been rewarding in every possible way. When you add the wonderful location of Athens, Greece, as well as the growth opportunities in terms of career, ENISA becomes an irresistible workplace.
What opportunities for learning, professional development and personal growth have you experienced at ENISA, and how has working in a European agency shaped your career?
I enjoy the variety of my job and how much I have learned in the past 8 years. I have been given the opportunity to branch out and gain knowledge not only in my domain, which is Human Resources, but also in other areas, such as Budget, Finance and Procurement and Operations. This motivated me to also obtain a certification in the domain ENISA operates in and I am proud to be Certified in Cybersecurity. I believe this makes me an even greater asset for the Agency and for the impact ENISA has on building digital resilience across the EU and strengthening its cybersecurity capacity.
What makes working at ENISA a meaningful career experience for you, and what would you say to someone considering joining the Agency?
ENISA operates in a fast-paced domain, which demands agility and adaptivity. This matches my personality and I have thrived in this environment, because I have been able to combine my passion for HR with an enticing location and an employer who values proactivity, innovation and thinking outside the box.”
