Dániel - Social media officer

With a background in journalism and communications, Dániel worked at Europol and CEPOL before joining EUDA in 2024. He now manages social media and digital campaigns, making complex scientific information clear and engaging.

One of the best things about working at the EUDA is seeing how expertise from across Europe comes together to create knowledge that can make a real difference.

What has been the most rewarding project or initiative you have worked on at the European Union Drugs Agency (EUDA) and why?

The most rewarding project for me has been leading the social media campaign for the European Drug Report. It is one of the agency's flagship publications and a great example of how scientific evidence can be translated into clear and accessible messages. What I enjoyed most was the cooperation with our national focal points across Europe, who helped amplify the campaign in their countries. It was exciting to see complex findings reach policymakers, professionals and citizens in many different languages and contexts.

How has working in a European and multicultural environment influenced the way you approach your work?

Working in a European environment has taught me that there is rarely a single perspective on an issue. Colleagues bring different professional backgrounds, experiences and cultural viewpoints, which often leads to stronger ideas and better results. It has also made me more attentive to how messages are received and perceived by different audiences and the importance of clear, inclusive communication.

What piece of advice would you give to someone interested in working in a European agency?

Be open to learning from the people around you and don't underestimate the importance of being a good colleague. Technical skills can be learned, but collaboration, curiosity and respect for different perspectives are what help people succeed in international organisations. Building good relationships and supporting others will take you a long way.
