Tasks and responsibilities

Reporting to the Head of Unit and under the supervision of the respective Head of Sector the main duties related to this position are: 

  • To plan, prepare and manage the implementation and delivery of EUROSUR Fusion Services for authorised stakeholders; 
  • To manage the allocated EUROSUR Fusion Service implementation and delivery cycle (including service operationalization) from a budgetary, operational and technical perspective; 
  • To coordinate the implementation and delivery of the EFS services internally at Frontex and with external entities (other EU agencies, Member States, etc.); 
  • To support internal and external users of EUROSUR Fusion Services;
  • To contribute to the preparation of training materials and provide training and coaching to users in Member States and at Frontex on the usage of EUROSUR Fusion Services;
  • To maintain and develop procedures, guidelines and other business documentations; 
  • To perform any other task in the area of competence.

Selection criteria:

Professional qualifications, competencies and experience required: Essential: 

  • At least 5 years of experience in planning and conducting intelligence and surveillance activities, preferably by airborne or spaceborne sensors including data processing. 
  • Excellent computer skills and ability to learn specialised software 
  • Practical experience in implementing projects throughout the project cycle 
  • Knowledge of the applicable legal framework (EBCG Regulation, EUROSUR Implementing Regulation, Schengen Borders Code, European Integrated Border Management) 
  • Experience related to drafting official documents, concept notes and procedures
  • Knowledge about the intelligence cycle and practical implementation Assets: Experience with Geographic Information Systems 
  • Experience in imagery analysis and associated processes 
  • Knowledge about air operations, air traffic management 
  • Knowledge about systems integration and data fusion
